Finally, an acoustic bass that you can actually hear without plugging it in. The side port on the top projects the deep tones from the body directly to the player, while the additional front port shoots the low frequencies towards the audience. The mids and highs dance off of the front soundboard for a sound that has to be heard to be believed. When plugged in, it keeps the same natural tone with much less feedback than other acoustic electric basses. Plays easy and looks great! The five-string EBR3-N5 adds a low B string to the already popular EBR3-N4.
Boulder Creek Solitaire Series
The Solitaire Series uses the same "SBS" bracing system as the Stage and Studio Series guitars. These basses were designed for the player, not the audience. Rather than a front port to project the sound outward, the Solitaire features a port on the top side of the guitar to direct the sound to the player. Since many players spend a lot of time playing with just themselves and their guitar, the Solitaire is the perfect choice for your second guitar.
There were some interesting results when the first Solitaire samples arrived. Even though the guitars were designed for the player and not the audience, the front sound projection was incredible. Since the soundboard increased in size due to not cutting a hole in the front, it produced more treble, midrange, and overall volume. The sound port on the top of the guitar produced enhanced low range frequencies which could be heard all around the room as low frequencies are omni-directional. In other words, this guitar sounds incredible out front also! When partnered with the AB4-T Preamp system, it makes the perfect guitar for stage, professional recording, and home studio applications. With the Solitaire's great playability and tone, it's the perfect choice for any working musician. And it also looks pretty cool.
The BR3-N5
Selected high quality hardwoods are used in all Boulder Creek guitars, and this five-string, acoustic-electric bass is no exception. The BR3-N5's top is made of solid Red Cedar, and the body is solid Mahogany. Laminated sides provide maximum strength and stability.
The 34-inch scale neck features a rosewood fingerboard with 20 frets, and the body's cutaway provides access to the higher register.
High quality 18:1 tuning machines are standard on all models, providing solid, stable tuning.
AB4-T Active Balanced Preamp System
All Boulder Creek Acoustic Electric Models are equipped with the new AB4-T Active Balanced Acoustic System with on-board tuner. The specially designed cable-type saddle transducer reduces the "clunk" that is inherent in traditional piezo pickup systems. The AB4-T System also feature both balanced and unbalanced outputs for maximum signal and noise reduction in both stage and studio applications.
